Pirate name [04 Feb 2006|05:14pm]

My pirate name is:

Black Bess Roberts

Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. Two things complete your pirate persona: style and swagger. Maybe a little too much swagger sometimes -- but who really cares? Arr!

Your Stipper Song Is

Master and Servant by Depeche Mode

"There?s a new game
We like to play you see
A game with added reality
You treat me like a dog
Get me down on my knees"

Yawn, dancing is so boring without a little spice.

Well the code seems flawed, but that is Master and Servent to those who don't know ;)

Things have quieted down here from our vacation. We got back and then got to spend a lovely week haveing then recovering from the stomach flu. It sucked. The only one spared was Muse thank goodness.

Maya is back in school now and getting used to the routine again. Her teacher went to go complete her training for a week, so they have a sub. Maya seems to like her just fine and was so excited yesterday because she got a lesson in the apple work :)

Muse is walking now, short amounts on hard surfaces. She does not seem to care for carpet very much at all. She is very funny and makes the cutest faces. Hard to believe that my baby is one!

I am making it a point to walk for at least 30 minutes everyday now. My goal is to lose 10 pounds by my birthday. I had to break my weight loss down into smaller amounts, because looking at the total that I wanted was keeping me from getting started. Ten pounds though seems completely reasonable.

My belly hurts today, no idea why. I plan on signing right up when they can do an entire digestive system transplant. I so need a new one.

My rant for the day is aimed at the asshat who was going southbound on the I-17 yesterday at 8AM. Dear sir, it is not cool to only go 40mph in the carpool lane. While I realise that this is still faster than the rest of the lanes, it is not evan close to the posted speed limit. It is also not nessesary to brake when the lane next to you is braking. Braking should be reserved for stopping, or slowing when someone has slowed/stopping IN FRONT OF YOU. You complete lack of basic driving knowledge has me amazed. Please call Sears Driving School for help.

Also, to the people who feel the need to jaywalk. Hey I realise that we all have done it from time to time, however, when something that wieghs between 2000 and 3000 pounds and is traveling at 40mph is coming at you, now is not the time to stop in you walk in the lane that said car is traveling. Get the fuck out of the way. Evan better, use the freaking cross walk that is located ten feel behind your sorry ass. If you step out in front of a moving vehicle, it can hurt you. It can also scare the crap out of the driver who may or may not end up flipping you off/yell out the window/etc. Please, please, please, for the safety and sanity of everyone envolved use the cross walk.

Going out to Tranz this Friday, anyone want to join me :)

illness stalking our family [06 Oct 2005|11:01pm]
Oh good god. I so loath stomach flu. It hit both Maya and I the other day. Poor thing did not sleep well and while I thought that we were in the clear, she threw up again tonight and I am not feeling all that hot my self. crap.

We are supposed to go to a birthday party on Saturday, I have my first spinning (yarn) class on Saturday, and Muse's first birthday is on Sunday. Unless people start feeling better soon I am probably going to have to cancel her party :(

This all needs to end. Enough with the sickness. We were gone for 10 days on vacation and I need to clean my house. I can not do it with us all getting sick.

Be gone evil germies. Leave me and my family be.

After reviewing my other posts, I feel the need to apologize out there to everyone for all of my typos. I generally, do not proofread my posts, just write, get it out there and hope for the best. Perhaps I shall have to start lol.

We are in San Diego now. Again lovely weather. Our room looks out over the pool area and the kids are having a great time. We spent some time at Seaport Village yesterday and then had dinner over at Joe's Crab Shack...yummy! I collect the tshirts from there and have started the girls on them as well.

I managed to leave an entire stack of my shirts in Phoenix so we have made a couple of trips to Target. Muse also managed to pull off one sock and shoe and offer them up to the gods without anyone noticing, so she is now the owner of new shoes. I also keep forgetting to bring in the phone charger from the rental, so my phone is dead for today unless I get up, walk out to the parking garage, get it, and come back in :)

Muse is chanting dada dada dada dada in an futile effort to wake Gei. She calls for Maya by chanting yaya, yaya, yaya, yaya. I, the one who birthed her, generaly get something thrown at me if she wants my attention (and for some bizarre reason she does not already have it lol).

We are off to Sea World today and then my aunts house for dinner. It means braving the rush hour traffic, but hey, it will be good to see all of them :D

C, tell the kitties hello for me, I miss them! We are going to have to go out when I get home...I miss dancing :)

A, happy birthday to D!!! Such a big kid :P

All others I will see you when I come home!

It has been a while [23 Sep 2005|08:48am]
Well I do apologize to the whole two people who I think read this blog. Then again I could be delusional. At any rate, I am feeling very peaceful right now. Mostly because we are on vacation. Oh the bliss...I ma in Carlsbad, right by the beach. I can see the fog rolling in at night, the weather is so cool and nice, not like the scorching freaking heat oh Phoenix. I swear I felt renewed the second that the plane touched down :) (even though we had two children, two strollers, two carseats, three carryons, and five suitcases to carry)

Anyway, I am pressed for time so I will be back later, but I am having such a good time.

Oh and for you knitters out there, I finished the umbilicod hat I also figured out how to size it up for bigger kidlets :D

Pressure [27 Jul 2005|10:32pm]

[ music | The second Matrix movie ]

A few months ago there was a planning meeting for the La Leche League of Arizona area conference. At this meeting I was apparently on something because I, a brand spanking new leader, offered to speak on nighttime parenting, solving the ago old question of what's for dinner, and leading activities at the sock hop they are planning.

Honestly, what the fuck.

So I have to have my outlines in for approval by the 31st of this month. That will be done. The conference itself is in early September. I will get through it, but I have to shake this feeling of not being smart enough to speak to people. I know the material, I know I can deliver it and not sound like a flaming idiot, but I am nervous anyway.

On a different note, I have been having a bunch of fun the last couple of weeks going dancing at Tranzylvania on Friday nights. I leave after both kidlets are asleep and Gei helps watch them. It is so nice to go and get some aggression out, dance, have a drink and take in the eye candy.

Also been taking the kids to swim lessons. The last one is tomorrow. I am so proud of Maya, she has come so far in such a short amount of time.

I need to dye my hair again. I just did it about three or four weeks ago and it just did not hold very well. I have no idea why.

The house is mostly put together and clean again. All that is left is the new guest room (putting together the bed, painting, and hanging of pics.) and the new flooring. We have to decide what kind of flooring, but it will look great I am sure.

So very many things... [17 Jul 2005|08:48am]

Well it has been quite soem time since I updated so here goes.

Maya is all recovered from having her tonsils out. The surgury itself went great, but the recovery was so hard. It is upsetting to see your child feel so bad. It is hard to have the patience to deal with their behavior after four days of said child speaking in high whine. We got through it though and she is sleeping so much better now.

Muse is pulling up and cruising on everything that she can. I am in constant amazment at how much she is changing. She cut the tow bottom teeth last month and in the last two weeks has cut four on the top. She is nine months old now and figured out yesterday how to turn her body so that she can slide off our bed. Smart, smart baby!

Speaking of our room, we are completly redoing it :) We bought a new king sizebed and mattress, sheets and duvet set in a deep dark red, matching curtains with white tab top sheers and roman blinds beind them. We painted the walls a creamy parchment colour and got the dressers and bedtables that match. Now we just need to add some finishing touches, pictures, candles, rugs.

We are also going to be putting down new flooring and installed a new bookcase. I am really liking all the work we have done. The house is a mess while it is all happening, but I know that it will return to normal soon.

I have the LLL area conference coming up soon. I will be speaking on two panels, eek! I am sure it will go well, but I am al little concerned about my nighttime parenting panel. I think that I will be making it more open forum discussion with some information thrown in at the begining. At any rate, we will all be staying down at the hotel as a family and it should be a good time.

Well there is more, but thing two is demending attentionby throwing oatios all over the living room.

You're a Masocist! Welcome to my world. You like
the whips and don't mind the pain! A few
bruises here
or there only mean that you did something! You're
probably also submissive to your parnter in
bed,
you like the strength they hold over you. Just
don't get real pain mixed with pleasure.
It can lead to bad things.

Wool and stuff [06 Jun 2005|09:38am]
So we went up to the Wool Fest up in Flagstaff. On the down side it was much much smaller than I thought it would be. On the plus side, the weather was wonderful and I got to try out a spinning wheel. Oh gloriousness, I have to have one. Hehehe I did get to buy one off of ebay the other night. I am so excited for it to get here. Now of course some heavy bargening was made. I have to wash, fold/hang, and put away all the laundry in this house before I can start to use it. Gei also wants me to practice on it and get good enough to sell the yarn I make. I need to go research how much hand dyed and spun yarn would go for. At any rate I am excited!!!

The French. Interesting. Moving on.

So yes, I love my quizzes. The are usually pretty fun to do. I am still wondering about the plastic needle one.

Looking forward to going up to Flagstaff tomorrow with Amey, Gei and assorted thing 1 and 2s. Ahhh there are few that would be thrilled to go to a Wool Fest, but I think that we will have a good time. I have been sucked into the world of hand crafts. There are worse things to be hooked on.

Anywhoo, that is about all for now.

plastic
You are plastic.
Futuristic, milky, and silky, you are willing to go
where no crafter has gone before. You can do
just about anything, with strength agility, and
pretty colors to boot! While you are good at
slipping and sliding out of sticky situations,
remember to stay where and when you are needed.
Don't overdo it on star gazing when there's
earthbound knitting to be done!

All right. No more messing around. Your knowledge of alcohol is so high that you have drinking and getting plastered down to a science. Sure, you could get wasted drinking beer, but who needs all those trips to the bathroom? You head straight for the bar and pick up that which is most efficient.
